2017 - 2018 - Mr. Adam Palmer
Mr. Palmer has been teaching music and coaching in Gilmer County for ten years, and was the 2011-2012 CCMS teacher of the year. He received his undergraduate degree in Music Education and Sociology at North Georgia College and State University. He then received his Masters degree from Grand Canyon University in Secondary Education. Mr. Palmer has taught every music class currently offered at the middle grades level including band, chorus, music appreciation, and general music, and has been a member of GMEA.
Mr. Palmer currently coaches the CCMS Cross Country team that has grown to sixty-five runners, who have won several league championships, and finished 5th and 7th in the Middle School State Championships last season. He has also coached soccer at CCMS for the past ten years, winning 7 boys championships and one girl’s title last season. For the past ten years, he also announced CCMS football and basketball games, set-up the sound system for dances/assemblies, and received Superior ratings, the highest possible, at the High Note Music festival in Atlanta for nine straight years with the CCMS Chorus.
